Certifying translated documents is something specific to the United States as there is no requirement for the translator to prove their competence in translating by showing a degree or diploma in the subject. In the United States, certified document translation services accompany each translation with a certificate of accuracy. This certificate is typically signed by the translator who provided the translation or the translation company which employs the document translator. The translation services will include its official letterhead on the certificate of accuracy with a signature and the date the translation was completed.
